Dayr Istya Cooperative was founded in 1976 and it consists of 84 members. The annual production amount of olive oil is 6 tons, whereas the annual sales amount is 5 tons.
The cooperatives main objective is to improve the effectiveness and the efficiency of the olive oil production lines through automated production lines, as well as working to increase the number of mills and olive oil warehouses.
In order to ensure the quality of the olive oil, the members suggested building specialized labs to ensure the olive oil quality. Currently, the cooperative of Dayr Istya is trying to raise the awareness about society through making donations to their local orphanage.
