There is an argument about the naming of Al-Yamun village. One argument is that the village derived its name from the word "yam" which means the water pool. Although the name
of the village is connected with the sea; it does not mean that Al-Yamun is a marine village but that it contains a lot of water springs.
Al-Yamun is one of the Palestinian villages, located 9km northwest of Jenin Governorate, and it had a population of 17,077 in 2007.The people of Al-Yamun village work either in the agriculture or trade sector.
In addition to the beauty of nature, the location, and the moderate weather, Al Yamun village is located in the extreme southern tip of the green" MarjIbnAmer" valley.
